Not pictured: An STI
I was in the heat of the moment, carving the curves on my way to work. Queen was on the radio and I was feeling great. And then...the dreaded blue lights appeared in my rear view.
57 in a 35.
I’m a god damn idiot.
Excuse me while I whip myself DaVinci Code style.

Isn’t that technically a misdemeanor?

Meh. I got tagged for 89 in a 55. I wasn’t even trying to be a menace, just late for an appt. On the plus side I made the appt, even with the stop but my insurance just got jacked up like crazy.

Less than 25 over, so probably not.

If you took the picture in the area you got the ticket 35 mph seems like a really low speed limit.

I got pulled over for 72 in a 45 once. I got a warning. Thanks Alabama State Trooper.

Yeah, in all honesty I didn’t know it was a 35 zone, and I was trying to make work on time (an hour away)
I made it on time, nonetheless.

Fingers crossed it isn’t terrible. I mean, you were doing a pretty decent clip down the road. Here in Ontario that would be four demerit points and an increase in insurance, and I think a fine as well.

Alabama here too. So I guess I was rather unlucky.

I did 93 in a 65. Written up for 85. Easy revenue for the state.

lol I thought Outbacks were “pull over proof”. I’ve passed cops going well over...well, a lot of mph and they haven’t batter an eye.

The OPP wanted give a $400 fine & 3 points for doing 125 in a 100. I took it to court, got the points dropped and $100 taken off the fine. My insurance treated it like a murder case.

Ouch, rough. Insurance companies are kind of awful. Doing 125 on the 401 isn’t exactly unheard of (although I drive around 110 to 115 for the reasons you mentioned).

It was not on the 401, it was on the 400 north of barrie. It was also the end of the month so...

Get a traffic attorney, get it pled (plead?) down to a non moving violation or even a seat belt infraction. Worth every cent.

If you were on the 401, 125 would mean people would be trying to run you off the road.
That 100 limit is pants.

Not on the 401, on the 400 north of barrie. 120 is the norm on it.

My only ticket was for 74 in a 70. It was $175.
Guess where? West Virginia. I thought they weren’t nazis like Virginia proper, but I guess not.

Well that is different. The 401 West of Pearson has a “Gib moni” speed of 100 and everyone does 130-140 because they’d like to actually get somewhere.

Advantage of arriving at Pearson about 10:30AM before the drive to K-W. One week was pretty weird...
I did 110 since I didn’t want to deal with the demerit points. Plus everyone else was doing 130. Avis helpfully have me a brand new Camaro. Bright silver. Less than 100km on the clock.
Yeah..I wasn’t going to be “that twit” considering I was ticket bait.

Well, at least it wasn’t in Virginia.
20+ over is reckless driving and can carry the same penalty as a DUI.
